Los Angeles, CA – Three Critically Injured in Bus Crash with Semi-Truck on Imperial Hwy near Douglas St
Los Angeles, CA (June 27, 2022) – Three people sustained critical injuries after a serious traffic accident in Los Angeles on Monday morning. According to reports, the wreck occurred between a bus and a semi-truck.
Sources say the accident occurred near the Los Angeles International Airport. The semi-truck was parked near the Imperial Highway and Douglas Street when the driver began to off-load a scissor lift. A few moments later, the lift was hit by an LADOT bus.
The bus was flipped onto its side in the middle of the road after the crash. A total of 19 people were present on the bus at the time of the crash. The bus driver was transported to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in critical condition.
Two passengers also sustained critical injuries while two others suffered moderate injuries. Others suffered minor injuries, most of whom were treated on-site and sent home.
At this time, what caused the accident remains unknown. All eastbound lanes of the Imperial Highway were closed while responders were in the area. Drivers were asked to seek alternative routes for the time being.
Police continue to investigate the details of the crash.
