Pedestrian Accidents in Long Beach
Each day in California, 67 people lose their lives due to auto accidents. Individuals who choose to walk or ride bikes are unfortunately at a higher risk of sustaining debilitating or even fatal injuries if they become involved in a traffic collision. Pedestrians are some of the most vulnerable people traveling on the road. Close to 900 people are killed per year in pedestrian wrecks in the Golden State.
Usually, negligent drivers are the ones who cause pedestrian accidents. When a driver is fatigued, distracted, or intoxicated, their reaction time and judgment can be impaired/reduced. Numerous individuals have been injured by drivers who are looking at their phones, drinking/doing drugs, or overly tired. Speeding is also a common form of driver negligence that causes thousands, if not millions of auto wrecks each year in the United States. Despite a large number of rules and regulations implemented to protect pedestrians and drivers alike, millions of people still sustain serious injuries every year.
