Charter Oak, CA – Bicyclist Loses Life in Police Motorcycle Crash at E Cienega Ave & N Sunflower Ave
Charter Oak, CA (February 1, 2022) – A bicyclist has lost their life as a result of an accident in Los Angeles County on Monday evening. At around 9:10 p.m., on January 31, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department responded to a major officer-involved incident on East Cienega Avenue.
According to local news sources, a motor vehicle collision between an Azura Police motorcycle officer and a bicyclist took place on Cienega Avenue at the intersection of North Sunflower Avenue.
The motorcycle and the bicyclist both suffered severe injuries in the crash. Two EMS units were requested at the scene of the accident to transport both victims to local trauma centers. Authorities confirmed that the bicyclist later passed away from their injuries.
At this time, the LACSD is investigating the incident.
