Boyle Heights, CA – Man Killed in Pedestrian Wreck on Whittier Blvd near Esperanza St
Boyle Heights, CA (April 4, 2022) – A 40-50-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle on Saturday, April 2, in Boyle Heights. Initial reports reveal that the fatal hit-and-run wreck happened just after 10:00 p.m.
According to local sources, the crash happened at Whittier Boulevard and Esperanza Street. A pedestrian was headed north on Esperanza’s crosswalk when he was struck by a Ford Fusion headed west.
The Fusion left the scene without waiting for authorities to arrive. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene.
The pedestrian’s identity will be released pending the notification of next of kin. Nothing further has been reported at this time.
Police continue to investigate.
